I’ve been making dog treats for over 12 years now. It is important to know which human foods are safe for dogs and which are toxic. The fun thing about dog ice cream, the possibilities are endless! However always double check on an ingredient before you give it to your pup. Things like chocolate and grapes are toxic for dogs, always double check before you add something new!

One of my favourite and simplest recipes to make is Doggy Ice Cream! This is an easy treat to make, even the kids can help!
What do you need?
- 1 cup Greek Yogurt ( its lactose free) or Coconut Milk
- 1/2 cup Shredded or finely chopped carrots or apples
- 1/4 cup Finely chopped cooked bacon or chicken
- Freezer safe bowl or muffin tin or silicone molds
Mix everything in a bowl. Pour mixture into a freezer safe bowl. For easier portion control, get fun silicone molds or use cupcake tins. Once frozen you can release from pan and store in a container or ziploc bag in freezer.
Ice cream can be added to their dinner or given on a hot day to help cool down! Always be mindful of the size of your dog and the portion of ice cream they get! A 10 pound dog is good for 1tbsp of ice cream, where a 120lb pup can easily enjoy 1/2cup-1 cup!
Hope your pups loves it! What other flavours have you tried?
